Сожаления и пожелания, касающиеся прошлого
Если мы хотим высказать наше сожаление по поводу того, что случилось в прошлом и поэтому нельзя исправить, то в английском языке мы используем конструкцию I wish или If only + подлежащее + глаголвформе Past Perfect.
Пример:
If only I had bought another pair of shoes. These are not comfortable. – Жаль, что я не купила другие туфли. В этих мне неудобно.
I forgot to set the alarm clock. I wish I had set the alarm clock yesterday. – Я забыл завести будильник. Как бы я хотел, чтобы я завел вчера будильник.

Особенности перевода фразы I wish на русский язык
Потренируемся переводить с русского на английский:
